The sweetness of honey is the perfect accent to this cheese appetizer. Please note: Appetizer is a loose term because I have been known to make a full meal out of this recipe! Full of Calicutts Israeli Za’atar with its herbal notes of thyme and nutty flavors of sesame seed, this feta block recipe is full of vegetables and flavor.
Ingredients
- 8 oz Feta cheese block
- 2 Tbsp Olive oil
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 1 ½ tsp Calicutts Israeli Za’atar Spice Blend
- 1 1/2 C Cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 Shallot, sliced
- 1 Zucchini, small, thinly sliced
- Fresh Thyme
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the feta on a small baking dish with tomatoes, shallot, and zucchini. Sprinkle with Israeli Za’atar and drizzle with olive oil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Turn the broiler on and top the feta with honey and fresh thyme leaves. Broil for 3-5 minutes until the top is toasted and the cheese is gooey. Top with more Za’atar if desired.
- Serve with crackers, bread or pita chips.
