Sugar cookies are a Christmas classic at our house. I personally love mine soft and chewy with that delightful hint of vanilla. Rolling the dough in Calicutts Vanilla Bean Sugar brings this recipe to life. Our dry-aging process using nothing but bourbon vanilla beans and sugar allows the natural vanilla flavors to come through for this delightful holiday treat.
Ingredients
- 1 C Butter, softened
- ¾ C Sugar, granulated
- ¼ C Calicutts Vanilla Bean Sugar
- ¼ C Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 ½ C All-purpose flour
- ½ tsp Baking powder
- ½ tsp Baking soda
- ¼ tsp Salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl with a standing mixer or hand mixer, cream the butter, sugar, Calicutts Vanilla Bean Sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes. Add in the egg, vanilla extract. Beat until combined.
- Add in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix until just combined, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl every now and again.
- Roll dough into 1” balls, and roll in Calicutts Cinnamon Sugar. Place on baking sheet about 2” apart. Bake for 10-11 minutes, or until cookies have set. Let rest for 2 minutes before moving to cooling rack. Allow to cool and enjoy!
